A athletic event of this kind only takes place once every four years. This week sees the return of the FIFA Women's World Cup, with the Women's National Team of various countries aiming for victory. Will the United States be able to harness the same magic it did in 2015 and 2019? Is the Lionesses of England going to take it home? Will an unexpected competitor surprise everyone? Starting with the opening games early this morning Eastern Time (Thursday, July 20th), we have all the details you need to know about when and how to stream the full women's soccer tournament.
When does the Women's World Cup 2023 start?
Starting at 3AM ET on July 20th, the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 will get underway. Why so soon? Australia and New Zealand are hosting the competition, which will make it difficult for Americans who want to watch the sport live. Since there are two hosts this year, there will be two games instead of the customary one on the first day when the host plays. At 6 AM ET, Australia takes on Ireland before New Zealand plays Norway. The US Women's National Team begins its group stage schedule against Vietnam on Friday, July 21 at 9 PM ET, and England takes the field for the first time against Haiti on Saturday, July 22 at 5:30 AM ET.
How to watch FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 from your Mobile devices
Viewers in African countries like Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Malawi and the rest can watch the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 on Showmax Pro and Dstv app.
The Women's World Cup in the US is being aired by Fox Sports, and all matches will be shown on either FOX or FS1. You can watch the entire event live on FOXSports.com and the FOX Sports App, according to the business, but you'll need to check in with your TV provider to do so. Additionally, full replays will be accessible in those two places, which will be helpful if you intend to miss a 3:30AM ET kickoff.
All of the games will be broadcast live on any streaming service that broadcasts FOX networks, including Hulu, Sling, and YouTube TV. The majority of those providers have cloud-based DVR, allowing you to record any games you want to skip.
Contrary to what Turner offers for a few March Madness games, none of the Women's World Cup matchups are available for free streaming. You'll need an outdated antenna that can pick up the local FOX channel in order to view some of the games for free. All of the US team's group-stage matches as well as all of the elimination rounds (quarterfinals through final) will air on FOX for US viewers. Of course, if you go this route, you'll miss a lot of the 35 games that FS1 will be airing.
