You may already have your eyes on something new, but it’s important to find out whether a phone suits your needs before you commit to buying it. Which Network Should You Be On?

It goes without saying that if you haven’t got a signal in your own home, the network you’re using is useless. Does EE offer 4G in your area? Is Vodafone known for a terrible signal when you’re trying to use a sat nav app? Do your research into what each network can offer you. 

Ask people who are using different networks in your area. Before you choose your phone, choose your network.

What’s in the Contract?

If you’re buying a new phone via a monthly contract, don’t sign your life away before you read the small print. Most of us don’t even bother to read what’s in the contract, and if you’re on the phone with someone with a strong accent, it’s almost guaranteed you don’t know what you’re agreeing to. 

If you’re interested in a new phone, go and have a face to face discussion with someone who can show you your contract in person and explain any details you’re unsure of. Contracts can near to impossible to get out of once you’ve agreed to their terms and conditions.

What Do You Need?

Thanks to mobile app development, there isn’t much you can think of that you can’t get your hands on. If you’re someone who likes your apps or you take a lot of photos, you may need a large amount of storage. 

There’s no point in going for a phone that gives you less than what you need because you may be charged every month for going over your quota. 

Similarly, if you’re not using the amount of storage you currently have, it’s not worth spending the money on a phone that offers you more. Take a look at how much you’re using now and find a phone that suits your needs.

Pay As You Go

Do you really need a monthly contract? It’s a question most people fail to ask themselves. If you’re able to, buying a phone outright instead of getting it on a contract can make so much more sense. It’s also likely to save you a lot of money. 

The beauty of pay as you go is that you only top up as much as you can afford. So, if you’re a bit tight on money one month, you have to use your phone less. Most pay as you go phones also have an emergency fund, so you don’t have to worry about being able to call someone if you were ever in an emergency.

Don’t rush into buying a phone. Take your time and find the right one for you.
