Globacom Nigeria today announced the launch of it's 4G LTE network. The giant telecommunication company made the announcement through their Official twitter account and followers with compatible devices are already giving it a try.
In case you would like to know, LTE - Long-Term Evolution is a standard for high- speed wireless for mobile phones and data. It offers better internet speed and quality for your internet-enabled devices.
Although, the announcement on Glo's official twitter account claims that the Glo 4G LTE network has been launched nationwide but the 4G LTE coverage option on the *777# menu for Glo data says otherwise. According to reply tweets from followers and from my quick findings via my glo line, the 4G LTE network is only available in the following cities;
- Lagos
- Abuja
- Portharcourt
- Jos
- Yola
- Zaria
- Benin
- Warri
- Eket
What are the available data plans on the Glo 4G LTE network?
The available data plans on the Glo 4G LTE network are indeed very similar to what you have on the Glo 3G network where N500 gives you 1.6GB, N2000 gives you 7.5GB. To subscribe, dial *777# > Select 1 to access the 4G LTE menu and make your subscriptions
Mind you, before you make plans to purchase it, make sure your phone is 4G capable, if not, get a 4G device before subscribing.
Some Glo customers have already given it a shot and there's been positive result so far.
Are you in any of the cities with Glo 4G connectivity? Tell us your experience via comments. Cheers!
