Threads' Web Version has finally been launched

Threads' long-awaited web version is now available. This week, Meta announced that its Twitter rival would be accessible from browsers; now, the rollout has begun. Adam Mosseri, the CEO of Instagram, announced on Thursday that all users can now access the update.

As a result, you should check again if you've been impatiently refreshing threads.net in anticipation of its availability. Many Threads users have been dissatisfied by the absence of a web version up until this point. People have not been able to browse their feeds, post, reply, or even log in to their accounts from browsers, even though it was possible to manually navigate to a specific user's profile.

Many people have considered the app's lack of a web version to be a significant barrier because of the app's sharp decline in engagement after its initial launch. Although Mosseri recently stated that the team was working out some bugs with the experience, both Mark Zuckerberg and Mosseri have been promising that a web version was high on their agenda for Threads.

It will be interesting to see which of the many "missing" features Threads gets next now that the web version is finally live. Users have also expressed dissatisfaction with the absence of hashtags and content search on Instagram and Twitter, where users can currently only search for other users rather than specific posts.

The inclusion of DMs is one feature, however, that seems unlikely. While Mosseri recently mentioned the possibility of integrating Instagram DMs into the Threads experience, he has previously stated that he is hesitant to add another inbox to users' lives. He did, however, confirm that post-editing features are in the works, so Threads users won't have to wait for an edit button for more than a decade.
