Google stated on Monday that its own chatbot AI project, Bard, will be launched with further details at Wednesday's Google Presents event in Paris in response to all the ChatGPT news and hype.
According to a blog post by Google CEO Sundar Pichai published on Monday, Bard will function as a "experimental conversational AI tool." It makes use of the Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA) framework that Google has already created and been working on for the previous two years.
It won't be accessible to everyone like ChatGPT is now, which somewhat deflates the excitement. Prior to scaling up, Google is starting with a simplified version of LaMDA that is accessible to a small number of reliable users.
To ensure that Bard's responses reach a high standard for quality, safety, and groundedness in real-world knowledge, Pichai added, "We'll mix external feedback with our own internal testing."
