This post is therefore meant for all existing & prospective subscribers of Globacom network that will/may be interested in the glo internet data plans for browsing the internet


Activating the G/E/3G Network on your phone
Firstly, if your phone is not showing the G/E/3G sign on your glo line inserted phone, you would need to do some internet activation by simply sending ACTIVATE as a message to 127. Although, this rarely occurs because your glo phone should automatically pick the internet network upon activation of your new glo sim. Incase it persists, that simply means that the internet network is unavailable in that area or at that particular point in time.

How to Get Free Internet data plans on Glo

To get free internet data plans, simply recharge your glo line with:

#200 to get 5MB Free data

#500 to get 25MB Free data

#1000 to get 50MB Free data

#2000 to get 100MB Free data

#5000 to get 500MB free data..... All for free on recharge.

A message will be sent to you to confirm the free browsing bonus upon loading any of the fore-mentioned recharge denominations but kindly ensure you load the exact amount to qualify. For example; To get 5MB FREE data, you should buy and load the single #200 glo recharge card. Buying two #100 recharge card will not work so ensure you get the exact amount on a single card for recharge.

NB:
 • I don't know for how long glo will continue to give this free browsing bonus owing to the fact that nothing is Permanent as usual :)

• Ensure you load the card @ once, no summing up

• Glo customers that purchase the airtime from Quickteller or ATM are not qualified. I don't know why o

How To Get Configuration Settings for Browsing on both the Free and Subscribed Glo internet Data Plans

Simply text "flat" OR "INTERNET" as a message to 1234. Save the setting received and activate as default.

HOW TO BUY GLO INTERNET DATA PLANS

To buy glo internet data plans, just send your code of choice to 127 and make sure you already have the required amount loaded on your account. Below are the list of codes

To purchase by USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) : Simply dial in this format   *127* choicecode# . For example if I want to to purchase 1GB plan, I will press *127*54# and press send. That's it

HOW TO CHECK YOUR GLO INTERNET DATA BALANCE
• whether you are on a free glo internet data plan or on a purchased glo internet data plan, to check your glo internet data balance, simply type INFO as a message to 127 and you should receive a message containing your remaining MB and when it will expire... All for free.
Similarly, you may call 124 and press 1 after the voice prompt to get your glo internet data plan balance but this one is not for free o.

HOW TO CONFIGURE YOUR PHONE TO BROWSE WITH YOUR AIRTIME

Just incase you don't want to purchase any data plan but wants to connect the glo internet by using your airtime. The flat settings won't work for that.
Here's what to do instead, text "WAP" as a message to 1234. Then save the setting upon receipt and activate as default.

NB: You should remember to change to the flat settings whenever you want to connect to the glo internet with the free or subscribed glo data plans
